Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services is hiring a Certified Journeyman to lay out, fabricate, install and maintain piping systems and related equipment across steam, hot water, heating and industrial processing areas. You will select pipes and fittings, inspect sites, plan installations and ensure safety compliance.

Responsibilities include cutting, threading, bending, assembling and testing piping assemblies, mounting supports, welding where required, and assisting in material handling.

Qualifications

• NCCER certifications required (written and/or practical).
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Lays out, fabricates, assembles, installs and maintains piping systems, pipe supports, fixtures, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for steam, hot water fixtures and equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling and production and processing systems.
• Selects type and size of pipe and related materials and equipment according to job specifications.
• Inspects worksite to determine obstructions and plans sequence to avoid conflicts.
• Cuts pipe using appropriate tools; threads and bends pipe; mounts hangers and brackets.
• Assembles and installs metal or nonmetal pipes and fittings with various joining methods.
• Tests piping systems for leaks and observes gauges for indications of leaks.
• Welds pipe supports to structural steel; may observe production machines and operate machinery for repairs.
• Loads, transports and unloads materials and tools; assists in lifting and securing work pieces.

Education
