Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services is seeking a pipefitter helper to assist journeyman pipefitters in laying out, fabricating, assembling and installing piping systems for industrial facilities. You will support installation of steam, hot water, cooling and processing systems.

The role emphasizes safety, adherence to drawings, and teamwork in a manufacturing environment. Training and opportunities for advancement are available through the company’s competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0–2 years of related work experience.
• Apply shop mathematics to solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Select pipe types and sizes per job specs.
• Inspect the worksite for obstructions.
• Plan installation sequence to avoid conflicts.
• Cut pipe with hacksaw, pipe cutter, hammer and chisel, cutting torch and pipe cutting machine.
• Thread and bend pipes as required.
• Mount hangers and brackets to support piping.
• Assemble and install pipes and fittings with appropriate joints.
• Secure pipes to structures and install refrigeration piping as needed.
• Test piping systems for leaks and pressure.
• Weld pipe supports to structural members.
• Follow safety and project rules.
