Job summary

Clark Construction Group is seeking a Pipefitter to join our on-site team in Georgia. You will select pipes and fittings, install and test piping systems, and work closely with foremen to ensure safe, efficient installation on active projects.

The role requires strong attention to safety, physical fitness, and ability to read drawings and shop plans. Expect exposure to outdoor conditions, heavy machinery, and strict safety protocols on high-profile construction sites.

Qualifications

• Ability to receive and follow instructions and communicate with co-workers.
• Ability to read labels, safety warnings, and guidelines.
• Ability to read drawings including pipe shop drawings, mechanical drawings, and P&ID’s.
• Excellent physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy objects.
• Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Selects type and size of pipe and related materials and equipment, such as supports, hangers, and valves, according to job specifications.
• Assists foreman in planning the sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other workers.
• Cuts pipe using a pipe cutter, pipe saw, power tools (band saw), and pipe cutting machine.
• Threads pipe using threading machine.
• Knowledge in safe operation of Victaulic roll grooving and cut groove operations.
• Mounts pipe hangers and brackets on walls and ceiling to hold pipe.
• Assembles and installs a variety of metal or nonmetal pipes and pipe fittings, using threaded, wrapped, soldering, brazen, fused, or cemented joints, and hand tools.
• Secures pipes to structure with bracket, clamps, and hangers, using hand and power tools.
• Knowledge in safe and professional testing of piping systems for leaks by increasing pressure in pipes and observing gauges attached to pipes for indication of leaks.
• Observes and complies with all safety and project rules and all company policies and procedures.
• Has working knowledge of working around heavy machinery to include hydraulic and lattice cranes.
• Ability to rig and signal loads as required.
• Ability to set and align process equipment like pumps and blowers.
• Conducts field layout of the piping system and calculates offsets, miters, and fittings as required.
• Performs other duties as required.
