Job summary

Clark Construction Group is seeking a skilled pipefitter to join our on-site team in a demanding construction environment. You will select and install pipe systems, ensure proper alignment, and coordinate with foremen to maintain project schedules.

The role requires reading drawings and P&IDs, performing safe pipe cutting and threading, and bending to exact specifications while adhering to safety standards and PPE protocols on active sites.

• Ability to read drawings including pipe shop drawings, mechanical drawings, and P&ID’s.

Responsibilities

• Selects type and size of pipe and related materials and equipment, such as supports, hangers, and valves, according to job specifications.
• Assists foreman in planning the sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other workers.
• Cuts pipe using a pipe cutter, pipe saw, power tools (band saw), and pipe cutting machine.
• Threads pipe using threading machine.
• Knowledge in safe operation of Victaulic roll grooving and cut groove operations.
• Mounts pipe hangers and brackets on walls and ceiling to hold pipe.
• Assembles and installs a variety of metal or nonmetal pipes and pipe fittings, using threaded, wrapped, soldering, brazen, fused, or cemented joints, and hand tools.
• Secures pipes to structure with bracket, clamps, and hangers, using hand and power tools.
• Knowledge in safe and professional testing of piping systems for leaks by increasing pressure in pipes and observing gauges attached to pipes for indication of leaks.
• Observes and complies with all safety and project rules and all company policies and procedures.
• Has working knowledge of working around heavy machinery to include hydraulic and lattice cranes.
• Ability to rig and signal loads as required.
• Ability to set and align process equipment like pumps and blowers.
• Conducts field layout of the piping system and calculates offsets, miters, and fittings as required.
• Performs other duties as required.
