Responsibilities

• Measures, cuts, threads, and assembles pipe; mounts in hangers or supports.
• Cuts or drills holes in walls or floors for pipe passage.
• Performs rough-ins, repairs or replaces fixtures and water heaters; locates or removes leaks.
• Assists in layout, assembly, and installation of piping for air, ammonia, gas, and water.
• Cuts pipe and lifts to assist fitters.
• Fits valves, couplings, or assemblies to tanks and pumps using hand tools.
• Requisitions tools and equipment; selects pipe type/size; transports materials to site.
• Mounts brackets and hangers; provides support for pipes.
• Excavates and grades ditches; lays and joins pipe for water and sewer.
• Disassembles and removes damaged or worn pipe.
