Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Selects type and size of pipe and related materials according to job specifications.
• Assist foreman in planning installation sequence to avoid obstructions.
• Cut pipe using pipe cutter, saw, band saw, or pipe cutting machine.
• Thread pipe using threading machine.
• Operate Victaulic roll grooving safely.
• Mount pipe hangers and brackets to hold pipe.
• Assemble and install pipes and fittings with appropriate joints.
• Secure pipes to structure with brackets and clamps.
• Test piping systems for leaks by pressurizing and observing gauges.
• Follow safety rules and company policies; work around heavy machinery.
• Rig and signal loads as required.
• Set and align process equipment like pumps and blowers.
• Conduct field layout of piping system and calculate offsets, miters, and fittings.
• Perform other duties as required.
