Located at our Merrillville, IN facility and reporting to the Piping Foreman, the Pipefitter will be engaged in fabricating, assembling, installing, and maintaining commercial HVAC piping systems.

Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of pipe installation.
• Work with tools to complete installation of all aspects of pipe systems.
• Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for various systems, following blueprints and specifications.
• Inspect work sites, plan installations, cut, thread, bend, assemble, and connect pipes using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Install and maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, refrigeration, and air-conditioning systems, including testing for leaks.
• May weld pipe supports to structural steel members.
• Read plans and working drawings to determine installation sequence.

Qualifications:

• Ability to work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
• Physical ability to climb ladders, lifts, and scaffolds; exert force; and lift objects up to 75 pounds.
• Minimum of 5+ years related work experience and 4 years vocational training.

Physical Demands:

Must be physically capable of operating machinery, working in various environments, and exerting force up to 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently.

Work Environment:

Primarily working alone on HVAC and boiler equipment in diverse environments, including extreme temperatures, using vehicles as bases of operation.
