Job summary

Team Industries Inc. in Port Arthur, TX is seeking a Pipe Fabricator for a five-year apprenticeship.

You will tack and weld pipe, verify joint fit-up, and produce high-quality welds according to isometric drawings, gaining hands-on experience in welding, cutting, grinding, and layout. The role requires GTAW certification on 2" S-80 pipe in 6G, reading diagrams, safety discipline, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Ability to weld 2' extra strong carbon steel pipe in 6G position (45° fixed jigs) within 3 hours or less.
• TIG out with all passes uphill progression.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures; write routine reports and communicate effectively.
• Ability to calculate figures such as proportions, percent, area, circumference, and volume; apply basic algebra and geometry.

Responsibilities

• Assemble pipe components by tacking them in place prior to welding.
• Confirm squareness and fit-up for joints.
• Verify pipe joints are aligned and built per isometric drawings.
• Weld joints and purge pipes for welding.
• Record heat numbers and identify welds; inspect and correct welds as needed.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and follow safety procedures.
