Job summary

Turner Industries in Port Allen, LA, seeks a skilled welder capable of TIG and Stick welding to fabricate pipe spools at the pipe fab shop.

You will read weld maps, interpret procedures, and perform tests in GTAW, SMAW, FCAW, and GMAW while following safety rules and PPE requirements.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of welding experience in pipe fabrication preferred.
• Must pass welding tests in 6G position: GTAW, SMAW, GTAW/FCAW, GMAW.
• Pre-employment drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.
• Hazard Communication orientation and Turner Industries indoctrination.
• OSHA-approved eye wear (Z87) and PPE requirements.
• Job site orientation and PPE rules (hearing protection, boots, long sleeve shirt, etc).

Responsibilities

• Read weld maps and weld procedures, identify material types and weld pipe spools.
• Work under a foreman, assist in setting up and takedown of pipe spools.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and adhere to PPE standards.
• Grind tacks with pneumatic grinders and ensure welding quality.
