Job summary

Dearing Compressor is seeking a skilled pipe welder to layout and weld piping using SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, or GTAW per procedures. The role emphasizes precision and adherence to welding specs in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications include a 1-year certificate or related training, a 6G certification, and 2–5 years in manufacturing. Strong teamwork and blueprint literacy are essential.

Qualifications

• One year certificate from college or technical school or related experience and training.
• 6G certification from prior employment.
• 2-5 year’s experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read blue prints and use simple math skills.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Must be able to work as a team.
• Ability to pass a drug test.
• Knowledge of (GMAW) STT process (surface tension transfer).
• Knowledge of SMAW 6010 downhill welding.

Responsibilities

• Reading and understanding blueprints prior to starting a project.
• Measuring and cutting materials to specifications.
• Welds in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Examines weld for bead size and other specifications; cleans weld joint or workpiece.
• Operation of overhead cranes.
• Rigging of workpiece.
• Cut pipe to length using oxy-fuel torch or saw.
• Operate mechanical beveler.
