Job summary

Dearing Compressor & Pump Co seeks an experienced welder to lay out, fit, and weld fabricated components into structural forms such as machinery frames. You will read engineering drawings and set up welding operations to assemble parts.

The role requires the ability to read tape measures, perform basic math, and pass a weld test. Industrial setting with overhead crane work and safety emphasis.

Qualifications

• One year certificate from college or technical school or related experience and training.
• Familiarity with MIG/TIG welding and metal fabrication, grinding and finishing metals.
• Ability to stand, crouch, and occasionally lift heavy equipment.
• 2–5 years of experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
• Able to pass a weld test and read blueprints.
• Able to read a tape measure and perform simple math.
• Able to pass a drug test.

Responsibilities

• Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding.
• Reads and interprets engineering drawings.
• Lays out, burns, copes, positions, aligns, and fits components.
• Clamps and tack-welds parts to secure for welding.
• Sets up equipment and welds parts using flux cored arc welding equipment.
• Operates grinder, saw, and other hand tools to complete assignments.
• Assembles parts by bolting and welding.
• Operates overhead cranes to move large steel material.

Job Summary

Lays out, fits, and welds fabricated components to assemble structural forms such as machinery frames by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

• Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding


• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings


• Lays out, burn, cope, positions, aligns, and fits components together


• Clamps and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding


• Sets up equipment and welds parts using flux cored arc welding equipment


• Operates grinder, saw, and other hand tools to complete assignments


• Assembles parts by bolting and welding


• Operates overhead cranes to move large steel material
