Job summary

Dearing Compressor & Pump in Ohio is seeking a skilled pipefitter to lay out and fit pipes, interpret blueprints, and assemble systems sized from 1” to 14”. You will inspect components, weld and secure pipes, and ensure alignment with customer specifications.

Ideal candidates have a 1-year certificate or related training, 3 years of pipe fitting, 3–5 years in manufacturing, ability to read blueprints and tape measures, and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• Reading blueprints and using math skills.
• Ability to read and interpret tape measures.
• 1-year certificate or technical school or related experience.

Responsibilities

• Lay out full scale drawings of pipe systems, supports, or related equipment, according to blueprints.
• Assemble or secure pipes, fittings, or related equipment, according to specifications, by welding.
• Attach pipes to walls, structures, or fixtures, using brackets, clamps, tools, or welding equipment.
• Modify, clean, or maintain pipe systems, units, fittings, or related machines or equipment, using hand or power tools.
• Knowledge of API 1104 and ASME weldments highly desirable
• Use advanced math including trigonometry
• Knowledge of pipe formulas
• Knowledge of Pipe Fittings and Takeoffs
• Ability to layout and segment pipe to customer specs
• Ability to cut pipe, and knowledge of beveling practices

Qualifications

• One year certificate from college or technical school or related experience and training
• 3 years of pipe fitting required
• 3-5 years of experience working in an manufacturingenvironment
• Ability to read blueprints and usemath skills

• Must be able to work as a team
• Ability to pass a drug test
