Job summary

Dearing Compressor is seeking a 1st shift Tubing Assembly Technician to bend, cut and assemble stainless tubing for compressor packages.

You will lay out tubing, bead, deburr, bend and connect tubing, then perform air tests to verify integrity and fit. An Associate degree or equivalent is required, with strong reading, safety and teamwork on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent required; related experience may substitute.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, procedures and specs.
• Familiarity with tubing fabrication and basic shop math is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan tubing job by laying out stainless tubing to fit connections on a compressor package.
• Cut tubing to required length using a hand tool.
• Beads, burrs, and flares tubing; deburrs inside diameter after cutting.
• Bend tubing by hand using bending tools to conform to routing.
• Connect tubing to compressor packages using fittings and secure tubing.
• Check tubing connections and air test all tubing runs.

Summary

The 1st shift Tubing Assembly Technician bends stainless metal tubing, according to specifications, for use in compressor packages by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Plans tubing job by laying out stainless metal tubing to fit connections on a compressor package.
• Cuts tubing to required length using a hand tool.
• Beads, burrs, and flares tubing.
• De-burrs inside diameter after cutting.
• Bends tubing by hand using bending tools to conform to required routing on compressor package.
• Connects tubing to compressor packages using appropriate fittings, and secures tubing, as required.
• Checks tubing connections.
• Air tests all tubing runs.

Education and/or Experience

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
