Job summary

Dearing Compressor in Youngstown, OH is seeking a welder/fabricator to lay out, fit, and weld components for machinery frames. You will read engineering drawings, prepare layouts, and perform welding using MIG/TIG processes while handling heavy steel safely.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, interpreting measurements, operating grinders and overhead cranes, and tracing precise layouts. Experience in industrial environments and a weld test are required.

Qualifications

• One year certificate from college or technical school or related experience
• Familiarity with MIG, TIG, metal fabrication, grinding, and finishing metals
• Ability to stand, crouch, and occasionally lift heavy equipment
• 2–5 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
• Ability to pass a weld test
• Ability to read blueprints and use simple math
• Ability to read and interpret a tape measure
• Ability to pass a drug test

• Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding

• Lays out, burn, cope, positions, aligns, and fits components together
• Clamps and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding
• Sets up equipment and welds parts using flux cored arc welding equipment

• Assembles parts by bolting and welding
• Operates overhead cranes to move large steel material

Job Summary

Lays out, fits, and welds fabricated components to assemble structural forms such as machinery frames by performing the following duties:
