Job summary

Sunrock is looking for an experienced Pipe Layer to install water, sewer, and storm drainage systems in heavy civil construction projects. The ideal candidate will have 1–2+ years of experience working on utility crews and should possess the ability to work alongside heavy equipment operators. The job is located in the Durham, NC area, requiring candidates to live within approximately 60 miles. Competitive pay and full benefits are offered, including a sign-on bonus and a 401(k) plan.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience installing underground utilities or related pipe systems.
• Experience working around heavy equipment (excavators, dozers, backhoes).
• Ability to read grade stakes and follow line and grade.

Responsibilities

• Install water, sewer, and storm drainage systems.
• Set up and align pipe to proper grade using lasers or hand levels.
• Work alongside excavator, backhoe, and dozer operators.

Skills

Installing underground utilities

Experience with heavy equipment

Knowledge of ductile iron and RCP techniques
