Job summary

Sunrock in Durham, NC is looking for an experienced Pipe Layer to install ductile iron, RCP, and other utility lines. Candidates should have 1–2 years of experience and be familiar with heavy equipment operations. The position offers competitive pay, 2 weeks of PTO increasing to 4 weeks, a sign-on bonus, and a full benefits package, including 401(k) with a company match. Applicants must be within a 60-mile radius of Durham and have reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience installing underground utilities or related pipe systems.
• Experience working around heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, backhoes.
• Knowledge of ductile iron and RCP pipe installation techniques preferred.
• Ability to read grade stakes and follow line and grade.

Responsibilities

• Install water, sewer, and storm drainage systems.
• Set up and align pipe to proper grade.
• Work alongside excavator, backhoe, and dozer operators.
• Assist with grading and trench preparation.
• Ensure safety protocols are followed.
• Operate or assist with heavy equipment as needed.
