Job summary

Branch's Civil Division is seeking a skilled Pipe Layer to join our well-established, growing company. The Pipe Layer is responsible for preparing and installing underground pipelines for road construction. This position reports to the Pipe Foreman.

The ideal candidate has 3 to 5 years of underground pipe laying experience and 2 to 4 years in road construction, with knowledge of pipe laying techniques and a strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines. A high school diploma or GED is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of underground pipe laying experience.
• 2 to 4 years of road construction experience preferred.
• Knowledgeable of pipe laying techniques.
• Sense of urgency to meet deadlines.
• Attention to detail and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Install sanitary and storm water sewer structures and pipe systems.
• Lay out pipe routes in accordance with specifications and coordinate with supervisor.
• Cut pipes to required lengths and align for welding or sealing.
• Check slopes for conformance using levels or lasers.
• Connect pipe pieces and seal joints with welding, cement or glue.
• Tap and drill holes into pipes for auxiliary lines or devices.
• Cover pipes with earth or other materials and grade trench bases.
• Perform general labor and uphold the company safety program.
