Overview

Archer Western is seeking a Pipelayer for the I-81 Widening Project in Roanoke, VA.

The Laborer - Pipelayer will perform pipe-laying tasks involving physical labor (laying, joining, wrapping, sealing) on construction sites including commercial, industrial, or heavy civil projects. Duties may include operating hand and/or power tools, preparing sites, and assisting with other tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities

1. Lay, join, align, wrap, and seal pipe sections (including clay, concrete, and other types) for water/gas mains, sanitary sewers, and electrical conduits.
2. Operate a variety of hand and power tools such as drills and hammers, as directed by management.
3. Perform physical labor tasks as instructed by a supervisor.

Qualifications

• Preferred: 1 year of verifiable experience.
• Ability to climb and maintain balance on scaffolds or ladders.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in adverse weather conditions.
• Commitment to safety policies and effective communication with team members and supervisors.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Good manual dexterity; ability to stand, bend, kneel, or sit for extended periods.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
