The Heavy Equipment Operator safely operates a variety of equipment used in construction, maintenance, pipe, and utility repair and installation, including the repair of roads, highways, parking lots, and other large site jobs.

Summary: The Heavy Equipment Operator safely operates a variety of equipment used in construction, maintenance, pipe, and utility repair and installation, including the repair of roads, highways, parking lots, and other large site jobs.

Essential Functions

• Operates heavy equipment (Backhoes, Bulldozers, etc.) of various sizes and weights used in road, site, pipe, or highway construction and paving.
• Properly follows company and OSHA safety procedures. Reports problems to the foreman, superintendent, safety director, or HR manager.
• Follows daily procedures and protocols as outlined in job orientations and trainings.
• Performs routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment; reports defects or needed repairs; cleans equipment.
• Assists in the installation and maintenance of traffic control devices.
• Assists in training new employees in maintenance and repair duties as required or assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.
