Job summary

HRCP (Hampton Roads Connector Partners JV) seeks experienced heavy equipment operators for the I-64 design-build project in Virginia. You will run bulldozers, excavators, rollers, and loaders across a large bridge-tunnel construction site, coordinating with crew and following safety protocols.

Responsibilities include locating underground utilities, sequencing machine actions with signals, and maintaining operations in all weather.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years experience operating equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, rollers, or front-end loaders.
• Must pass drug screen.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must communicate effectively with crew members.

Responsibilities

• Start engines and operate heavy equipment per job requirements.
• Locate underground services prior to beginning work.
• Monitor operations to ensure safety standards are met.
• Load and move dirt, rocks, and materials using heavy equipment.
• Coordinate machine actions with signals from crew members.
• Follow safety regulations and company policies.

Job description

The Hampton Roads Connector Partners JV (HRCP) consisting of Dragados, VINCI, and Flatiron has been selected to construct the $4.3bn Design Build project –the largest civil construction contract ever awarded by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).The project scope across a 9 mile section of the I-64 will include: a new 3.5-mile bridge-tunnel crossing that will accommodate a total of 8 lanes of capacity across the water, replacement of the existing marine approach bridges and the addition of a third lane on I-64 in each direction. The twin 45’ diameter 1.5-mile tunnels will be bored by TBM, creating the second largest TBM tunnel opening for a TBM in North America.
