Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. in New Jersey is seeking an experienced plumber to support our pharmaceutical site. You will repair, install and maintain water, steam and medical gas systems, following blueprints, codes, and GMP requirements.

Responsibilities include safety inspections, on-call responses, and training other staff, with emphasis on reliability, quality workmanship, and adherence to SOPs. A Journeyman plumbing license and a valid US driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED or trade school diploma is required.
  • Journeyman Plumbing Certification is required.
  • Medical Gas and Backflow certifications preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Ability to read blueprints, drawings and specs and follow codes.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain safety compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Repair, install, replace, test, and fix water and steam systems and related components.
  • Perform routine maintenance and safety inspections on plumbing systems.
  • Follow SOPs and GMPs; participate in HSE programs.
  • Assist projects and coordinate with staff or contractors.
  • Provide training to staff for light plumbing maintenance and repair.
  • Respond to emergency calls and document incidents as required.
  • Maintain an organized and safe work environment; perform calibrations as needed.

What You’ll Do:
  • Repair, install, replace, test, and fix the water, air, medical gas, supply steam systems traps etc.
  • Knowledge of steam piping and components
  • Install new water systems, piping, and fixtures by blueprints, drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
  • Ensure waste and vent lines are in good operating condition using a plumber’s snake, vacuum plunger, or jet washer and drain camera.
  • Assist other staff members or contractors on projects or equipment installations.
  • Complete plumbing safety inspections on backflow devices.
  • Provide training to other staff members so they can perform light plumbing maintenance and repair.
  • Perform general maintenance and building systems operational duties as assigned or directed.
  • Respond to emergency situations, summoning extra help as needed.
  • Follow all activity policies and procedures, always including all HSE-related requirements.
  • Finish the HSE programs & activities as required, including incident investigations, interviews, auditing, and assessment, etc.
  • Report any conditions that could result in an accident or injury to management.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to all safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Conduct routine inspections and calibrations of equipment to ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
What You’ll Need
  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Plumbing certification at the Journeyman level required. Medical Gas certification and Backflow certification preferred. Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
  • Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
