Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. in Indianapolis is seeking a Plumber/Pipefitter to join our facilities maintenance team on a Monday–Friday day shift.

You will maintain laboratory and manufacturing infrastructure, ensuring critical systems operate efficiently and safely. The role emphasizes preventative maintenance on air handlers, autoclaves, coils, and humidifiers, plus emergency response and training for staff on light plumbing tasks.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience.
  • Journeyman plumbing certification required. Medical Gas certification and Backflow certification preferred. Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Meet the physical requirements including lifting up to 50 lbs and climbing stairs/ladders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational skills and an inquisitive mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Repair, install, replace, test, and fix water and medical gas systems and steam traps.
  • Knowledge of steam piping and components.
  • Install new water systems, piping, and fixtures per blueprints, drawings, specs, and codes.
  • Ensure waste and vent lines are in good operating condition.
  • Assist other staff or contractors on projects or equipment installations.
  • Complete plumbing safety inspections on backflow devices.
  • Provide training to staff for light plumbing maintenance.
  • Perform general maintenance and building systems duties as directed.
  • Respond to emergencies and coordinate with additional help as needed.
  • Follow HSE requirements and complete related activities and investigations.

Join a leading pharmaceutical facility in Indianapolis where your mechanical expertise directly supports critical, life-saving operations. We are seeking a skilled Plumber/Pipefitter to join our facilities maintenance team on a stable, Monday through Friday day shift schedule. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining the infrastructure of a cutting-edge laboratory and manufacturing environment, ensuring that our complex mechanical systems operate at peak efficiency. Your daily contributions will center on performing preventative maintenance on air handlers, autoclaves, coils, and humidifiers to ensure seamless facility performance. Beyond scheduled maintenance, you will be the go-to expert for emergency response, handling everything from addressing leaky valves and plumbing issues to managing complex steam system requirements, including steam shutdowns and valve repacking. What You’ll Do:
  • Repair, install, replace, test, and fix the water and medical gas supply steam systems traps etc.
  • Knowledge of steam piping and components
  • Install new water systems, piping, and fixtures by blueprints, drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
  • Ensure waste and vent lines are in good operating condition using a plumber’s snake, vacuum plunger, or jet washer.
  • Assist other staff members or contractors on projects or equipment installations.
  • Complete plumbing safety inspections on backflow devices.
  • Provide training to other staff members so they can perform light plumbing maintenance and repair.
  • Perform general maintenance and building systems operational duties as assigned or directed.
  • Respond to emergency situations, summoning extra help as needed.
  • Follow all activity policies and procedures, always including all HSE-related requirements.
  • Finish the HSE programs & activities as required, including incident investigations, interviews, auditing, and assessment, etc.
  • Report any conditions that could result in an accident or injury to management.
What You’ll Need
  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Plumbing certification at the Journeyman level required. Medical Gas certification and Backflow certification preferred. Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
  • Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions. In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
