Job summary

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is seeking a Plumber to join our engineering team in Austin. You will coordinate preventive maintenance, repair, and installation of plumbing and related systems across world-class properties, ensuring safety and reliability.

The role requires Journeyman plumbing certification, 4–5 years of experience, and the ability to read blueprints. You’ll work with a collaborative team, support project installations, and help maintain high HSE standards.

Qualifications

  • Journeyman plumbing certification required.
  • Medical Gas certification and Backflow certification preferred.
  • Physical ability to stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs/ladders, and lift 50 lbs+.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and CMMS for maintenance workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Repair, install, test, and service water and medical gas systems.
  • Install piping, fixtures, and systems per blueprints and codes.
  • Perform routine plumbing maintenance and safety inspections.
  • Support project installations and assist colleagues as needed.
  • Respond to emergencies and coordinate with team for quick resolution.

As a CBRE Plumber, you will coordinate general preventive maintenance, repair, testing, installation, and fixing of plumbing, mechanical and distribution systems throughout a facility.

This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function.

What you’ll do
  • Repair, install, replace, test, and solve the water and medical gas supply and distribution system.
  • Install new water systems, piping, and fixtures by blueprints, drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
  • Ensure waste and vent lines are in good operating condition using a plumber’s snake, vacuum plunger, or jet washer.
  • Support colleagues or external workers with projects or equipment installations.
  • Complete plumbing safety inspections on backflow devices.
  • Offer training to additional team members for them to carry out minor plumbing maintenance and repairs.
  • Perform general maintenance and building systems operational duties as assigned.
  • Respond to emergency situations, summoning extra help as needed.
  • Follow all activity policies and procedures, always including all HSE-related requirements.
  • Finish the HSE programs & activities as required, including incident investigations, interviews, auditing, and assessment, etc.
  • Report any conditions that could result in an accident or injury to management.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish sophisticated assignments and provide innovative solutions.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.
  • Impact a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams.
  • Explain difficult or sensitive information
What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma or equivalent experience with 4-5 years of job-related experience.
  • Plumbing certification at the Journeyman level required. Medical Gas certification and Backflow certification preferred.
  • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
  • Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc. and CMMS
