Job summary

Plaid seeks a Data Scientist to join the Embedded Insights team, becoming the first data scientist on a central ML/Analytics group. You will establish analytics foundations, metrics, and dashboards to support a diverse set of internal and external Plaid products and decisions.

You will drive model development support, health monitoring, and data-driven storytelling for product and engineering leaders, shaping long-term analytics roadmaps across Plaid's network.

Qualifications

• Six+ years of experience in Data Science or analytics.
• Strong SQL and data visualization skills.
• Proficiency in Python for exploratory data analysis.
• Ability to translate analytical results into business implications.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Analyze entities across the Plaid network to understand behavior, opportunities, risks.
• Create foundational metrics, dashboards, and monitoring systems for network health and model performance.
• Evaluate model performance and translate results into actionable narratives for product and engineering.
• Identify opportunities to improve models and translate findings into recommendations.
• Design experiments, define success metrics, and communicate insights to stakeholders.
• Analyze product and customer data to identify improvement opportunities.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to build reliable data models and analytics workflows.
