Job summary

Flanigan’s Enterprises, Inc. is hiring a dedicated kitchen porter to keep dishware and utensils spotless while upholding the highest sanitation standards. You will wash, sanitize, and organize items, supporting the kitchen team during busy shifts.

This role requires physical stamina, the ability to stand for long periods, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Training on Florida sanitation policies is provided, with opportunities for advancement based on performance.

Qualifications

• Must be able to stand/walk 100% of shift.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Able to work in damp, high-temperature environment.
• Must complete food safety certification.

Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize plateware, glassware, silverware, pots, pans, and utensils according to Flanigan’s sanitation policies.
• Clean and sanitize throughout shift.
• Maintain kitchen area cleanliness: sweep, mop, and remove debris.
• Perform assigned prep work, opening/closing duties, and beautification tasks.
• Prepare and maintain dish machine at opening, during business hours, and at closing.
• Support fellow employees as needed.

• Follows all company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training
• Washes and provides clean and sanitized plateware, glassware, silverware, pots, pans, kitchen utensils using Flanigan’s sanitation policies
• Cleans and sanitizes throughout shift
• Maintain kitchen area cleanliness ; sweeps, mops, removes debris from floor, etc
• Perform assigned prep work, opening/closing duties, beautification duties
• Prepares and maintains dish machine at opening, during business hours, and at closing
• Can physically stand/walk 100 % of shift
• Can reach, bend, stoop
• Can immerse hands in water frequently, diluted with chemical solutions
• Ability to speak, read and write English
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. several times per shift, lift these heavy loads to high shelves, coolers, freezers
• Work in damp, high temperature environment indoors and minimally outdoors
• Work safely with hot plates, pots, pans
• Work safely with sharp knives and utensils
• Support fellow employees as needed
• Complete and pass food safety certification program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
• Five (5) Day Work Week, with Two (2) Consecutive Days Off
• Paid Vacation One Week after Year One, Two Weeks after Two Years, and Three Weeks after Ten Years
• Christmas Bonus after one year of employment (amount equals one week pay)
