Job summary

Ashland Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a Chemical Engineer to join our Process Technology Team at Calvert City, KY. You will lead process development, scale-up projects, and evaluate options to commercialize new products and processes.

You will direct technicians in the pilot plant and contribute to safety and rigorous data analysis. The role requires a BS in Chemical Engineering, 0–5 years of relevant experience, and authorization to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• BS in Chemical Engineering required.
• 0–5 years of experience in chemical manufacturing, catalyst generation and operations and/or process research.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Commitment to safe practices in all aspects of job.

Responsibilities

• Lead process development and scale-up projects of specialty products developed through the R&D innovation program.
• Develop and evaluate alternative process options to facilitate decisions on product and process feasibility.
• Direct technicians in the pilot plant to define process capability and evaluate process options.
• Participate in plant trials to demonstrate and commercialize new products and processes.
• Summarize and interpret process and analytical data.
• Document and transfer new process technology to manufacturing.
• Evaluate heterogeneous catalyst performance in laboratory scale flow reactors for various processes.
• Maintain and modify bench scale process and laboratory equipment.
• Comply with company procedural guidelines, laboratory procedures, and safety programs.
