Job summary

Ashland Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a Chemical Engineer to join our Process Technology Team at Calvert City, KY. You will lead process development, scale-up projects, and evaluate options to commercialize new products and processes.

You will direct technicians in the pilot plant and contribute to safety and rigorous data analysis. The role requires a BS in Chemical Engineering, 0–5 years of relevant experience, and authorization to work in the United States.

Qualifications

  • 0–5 years of experience in chemical manufacturing, catalyst generation and operations and/or process research.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:
  • BS in Chemical Engineering is required
  • Ideal candidate has 0-5 years of experience in chemical manufacturing, catalyst generation and operations and/or process research
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Commitment to safe practices in all aspects of job
The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:
  • Displays initiative
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and activities
  • Familiarity with basic process control instrumentation
  • Proficient in PC usage and Microsoft Office software
  • Knowledge of gas chromatography and other analytical equipment is beneficial
  • Understands chemical handling procedures and the use of Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
  • Knowledge of organic synthesis and experience handling organic solutions, organic solvents and flammable gases is desirable

Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a Chemical Engineer to join our Process Technology Team at our Calvert City, KY location. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the global R&D function. This position will report to the Group Leader of the Pilot Plant and Catalyst Testing Lab.

Calvert City, KY is located in Western Kentucky and sits in close proximity to Kentucky Lake known for some of the best recreational boating and bass fishing in the U.S.
