Clariant is seeking a Process Engineer to support its Catalysts business unit in Louisville, Kentucky. You will improve production performance, product quality, process efficiency, and safety, collaborating with plant teams and conducting experiments on-site with some plant time for testing.

The role emphasizes catalyst use in continuous processes, energy sustainability projects, and a likelihood of up to 10% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 2+ years of relevant experience in production, process engineering, process improvement, or applicable research.
• Knowledge of catalysts and their application in continuous processes.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills; proficiency in data analysis tools.
• Ability to work onsite full-time and travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for production lines and troubleshoot process and product quality issues.
• Monitor process performance and identify opportunities to improve throughput, reliability, and cost.
• Plan and conduct plant experiments and process trials, analyze results, and recommend improvements.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, quality, and EHS teams to resolve operational challenges.
• Initiate and support process modifications through the Management of Change process.
• Participate in risk assessments and implement actions to improve safety and environmental performance.
• Investigate customer nonconformities and develop solutions to improve First Pass Quality.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, operating procedures, and training materials.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives and track results using relevant performance indicators.
• Support process improvements related to energy efficiency and sustainability.
