Job summary

Ashland Inc. in Calvert City, KY is seeking a Chemical Process Engineer to join the ISP Technologies unit. The role reports to the Operations Manager and focuses on optimizing batch production, data-driven decision making, and continuous improvement across the plant.

Candidate should have a chemical engineering degree with 1–5 years in chemical manufacturing, and be able to respond to emergencies, evacuate as needed, and wear required PPE. Travel may be <10% and collaboration with multiple teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• 1–5 years in chemical manufacturing environment (Co-ops/internships count).
• Must respond appropriately during site emergencies as directed by the Site Emergency Manager.
• Must evacuate process areas if required and wear PPE as needed.

Responsibilities

• Review daily operation of batch production areas and troubleshoot processes.
• Collect and analyze data to optimize processes, improve yields and quality.
• Collaborate with Operations Manager and staff on continuous improvement efforts.
• Work with Operators, Engineers, Supervisors and site personnel to improve control systems.
• Coordinate with R&D/Pilot Plant on new products.
• Perform other related duties to ensure department efficiency.
