Job summary

Carpenter Co. has immediate openings for Pillow Department Machine Operators on 1st shift (6:00am - 2:00pm) at our Elkhart, Indiana foam manufacturing plant.

Starting pay is $23.93–$24.85 per hour, with responsibilities including operating equipment and coordinating line production to meet orders promptly with minimal downtime. The successful candidate will work in a production environment with interaction among coworkers, lead person, and supervisor.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Must be able to stand the full work shift (8 to 10 hours).
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds throughout the shift without assistance.
• Must be able to communicate effectively.
• Must be able to work in a team environment and assist co-workers.
• Must be able to read and interpret a tape measure, preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Operate the holepunch.
• Operate the stockinet.
• Perform quality checks on materials and finished goods.
• Operate the pillow stuffer.
• Zip and bag pillows.
• Fold and label boxes.
• Stack finished goods boxes.
• Place scrap foam pieces in the baler.
• Help with monthly inventory.
• Complete daily production reporting.
