Job summary

Carpenter Co. operates an Automated Slitter in the Bedding Department at our Elkhart, Indiana plant on 1st shift (5am to 1pm). The role cuts and packages foam bedding products and requires reading dimensions on a control panel and ensuring accurate output.

The starting pay ranges from $22.79 to $23.76 per hour, with duties including labeling, wrapping, and downtime reduction. The successful candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED, 1+ year manufacturing experience, and basic computer

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1+ years manufacturing experience.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Basic computer knowledge and ability to use computerized equipment.
• Overtime may be required on Saturdays or at end of shift.

Responsibilities

• Operate machinery that cuts and packages foam bedding products.
• Communicate with department manager and lead person for direction of material.
• Enter dimensions into control panel and set machine parameters.
• Verify proper machine operations and output accuracy.
• Operate baler and tie bales; wrap and package product.
• Adjust machines as needed to minimize downtime.
