Job summary

NYU Langone Health, a leading healthcare system, seeks a Patient Care Technician/Senior Nursing Attendant for the KP 9 PICU Day Shift (37.5 hours). You will assist nurses in providing safe, compassionate patient care and support the unit with supplies, equipment and environment maintenance.

Responsibilities include data collection for quality programs, addressing patient needs, and communicating effectively with patients, families, and staff.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of a PCT program w/ at least 6 months hospital experience OR CNA graduate with EKG & Phlebotomy training and PCT certification eligible with 6 months hospital experience.
• PCT Certification through NHA with at least 6 months hospital experience.
• BLS or Heartsaver CPR/AED certification issued by AHA is required on entry to position.

Responsibilities

• Assist the nurse in patient care and safety.
• Maintain cleanliness and supplies on the unit; support infection control.
• Assist in data collection for quality and performance improvement.
• Communicate with patients, families and staff in a caring manner.
• Support admission, transfer and discharge procedures per unit operations.
