Job summary

Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center is seeking a Nurse Educator to enhance professional practice by delivering evidence-based educational programs for nursing, inter-professional teams, and clinical staff. The role focuses on onboarding, orientation, competency, and ongoing staff development to improve patient care outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing is required.
• Master’s degree in nursing is preferred.
• Must have PICU experience.
• 2+ years of clinical education, CSC, academia or leadership experience preferred.
• 2+ years of acute care hospital experience preferred.
• Currently licensed as an RN or holds an active compact license.
• Nationally recognized specialty certification preferred.
• Basic Life Saving (BLS) certification required.
• Travel up to 25% is required.

Responsibilities

• Participates in development, coordination, management, and evaluation of onboarding and orientation for nursing and other clinical staff.
• Provides onboarding programs to promote employee retention.
• Collaborates with the Director of Clinical Professional Development to adjust programs based on evaluation results.
• Participates in development and management of competency programs.
• Designs educational activities addressing practice gaps for licensed and non-licensed staff.
• Develops activities to improve knowledge, skills, and practice; plans content delivery to engage learners.
• Promotes evidence-based practice and participates in research, EBP, and quality improvement.
• Identifies strategies for lifelong learning and staff maturation.
• Utilizes a novice-to-expert approach to staff development and skill enhancement.
