Job summary

Lowes Foods is seeking a Pick & Prep team member to actively engage guests with product preparation, sampling, and storytelling about fresh, healthy, seasonal items. Responsibilities include engaging guests, demonstrating knife skills, operating the Pick & Prep area, and supporting receiving, stocking, and guest service activities as needed.

Qualifications

• Friendly, outgoing personality required.
• Must engage guests and enjoy storytelling about products.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs regularly and 50 lbs occasionally.
• Able to read and understand information and direction.
• Knowledge of Pick & Prep operations.
• Willingness to learn knife skills.
• Effective communication and selling skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Able to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
• Able to work with supervision and computers/scales.

Overview

To prepare Pick & Prep product and provide product preparation services to create a sensory and engaging experience for guests, while operating at or above company standards.

Responsibilities

• Actively engage guests through product preparation, active sampling and suggestive selling.
• To personally demonstrate superior guest service at all times. This will included but is not limited to storytelling about specific products within the department, highlighting product benefits such as Fresh, Healthy, Seasonal and most importantly Local, etc..
• Demonstrate knife showmanship skills to highlight the services and show offered at Pick & Prep
• Operate the Pick & Prep area according to strict merchandising and operational standards.
• Ensure the quality of product for sale meets Lowes Foods standards.
• Maintain sanitation and safety throughout the department according to Lowes Foods standards.
• Perform product preparation, receiving, ordering, stocking, merchandising and guest service as necessary to achieve standards.
• Perform PA announcements.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
