Job summary

Nokia in the California Bay Area is seeking a seasoned leader to head a PIC Test Engineering team, driving scalable test solutions for large-scale production of photonic integrated circuits. You will mentor engineers, collaborate with InP wafer fab partners in Sunnyvale and South San Jose, and expand lab infrastructure to enable rapid production ramp and device reliability.

This role requires strong hiring, coaching, and cross-functional communication to align hardware and software test efforts

Qualifications

• PhD or MS in Photonics, Electrical Engineering, or Applied Physics.
• Minimum 5 years of photonic or opto-electronic devices industry experience.
• Experience in managerial roles and team expansion is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver production PIC test capacity and capability.
• Meet production targets with InP wafer fab partners in Sunnyvale and South San Jose.
• Expand test lab infrastructure for a large new lab space.
• Lead cross-functional teams to improve test efficiency, capacity, and capability.
• Manage hardware and engineering resources and set priorities.
• Expand the PIC Production Test team.
• Lead a team of engineers and technicians.
• Source and hire PIC Test engineers and technicians.
• Onboard/train new hires effectively.
• Mentor and coach team members to grow.
• Drive technical excellence in test hardware and software.
• Define detailed testability requirements with R&D.
• Collaborate with Operations to meet NPI test requirements.
• Support existing product line testing via ECOs/CNs.
