Job summary

Nokia is seeking a PhD- or Master's‑level candidate in Electrical Engineering or related field to join the Optical Networks division in Sunnyvale, CA. You will design and validate test plans for PIC/subassembly devices, develop automated test solutions, and document results across cross‑functional teams in a fast, production‑oriented environment.

In this role you will work with Matlab/C/C++/Python/LabVIEW, contribute to device characterization, and help drive scalable test platforms in the AI

Qualifications

• PhD in Electrical Engineering or Master’s with 3+ years in optical communications or photonics.
• Experience with semiconductor electrical and optical characterization techniques.
• Strong documentation and communication across teams.

Responsibilities

• Design test plans and algorithms for PIC/subassembly performance validation tests.
• Develop, implement, and document test hardware and software solutions for device characterization.
• Develop automated production-level test solutions, including motion/vision control HW and SW.
• Qualify test stations, including Gage RR and SPC.
• Document all test solutions and communicate to other teams.
• Track schedules and milestones for test development projects.
