The Physics Admin Assistant at American University provides front desk coverage, office and lab supply organization, advertising, and event management. This part-time role supports the College of Arts & Sciences and the Gravitational and Thermal Noise Lab under the Senior Administrative Assistant.
Ideal candidates are enrolled American University students, available 5 hours per week, and able to work on campus. FWS eligibility applies in most cases.
Most student positions at American University are eligible to use Federal Work Study (FWS) awards, with a few exceptions. The Physics Admin Assistant assists front desk coverage, office organization, lab supply organization, advertising, and event management. They will form a part-time support role for the Department as a whole, under the supervision of the Senior Administrative Assistant, to improve Department operations and outreach. The Admin Assistant also supports laboratory research projects, such as the Gravitational and Thermal Noise Lab, as needed, and in alignment with their qualifications and research interests in Physics.
