Summary

This Physician - Urologist position is located at the York Clinic in York, PA.

Qualifications

• American citizenship; non‑citizens may only be appointed where no qualified citizens can be recruited.
• Doctor of Medicine (or equivalent) from a VA‑approved school.
• Full, unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in any U.S. state, territory, Commonwealth, or D.C.
• Completed residency training approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty (e.g., Urology) leading to eligibility for board certification. Residents may be appointed as "Physician Resident Providers" (PRPs) on an intermittent basis.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Additional Requirement: Residency in Urology.
• Preferred Experience: Board Certified or Board Eligible; robotically trained with current robotic privileges.
• Physical Requirements in accordance with VA Directive and Handbook 5019.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Document own interventions and review health team documentation of patient treatment plans.
• Recognize and intervene in complex situations that impact patient care.
• Participate in developing policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure comprehensive services.
• Maintain competencies through in‑service training programs.
• Provide direct patient care utilizing telehealth technologies.
• Maintain current knowledge of trends in professional issues.
• Educate patients and families about treatment and diagnosis.
• Use professional standards of care to evaluate programs and activities.
• Lead interdisciplinary teams to improve organizational performance.
• Identify impediments to health care delivery and apply problem‑solving and performance‑improvement approaches.
• Participate in performance‑improvement activities related to the service line quality‑improvement process.
• Track and trend issues related to care delivery and role implementation.
• Participate in interdisciplinary ad‑hoc committees or action teams.
• Establish objective and measurable goals appropriate for case load size based on patient population and diagnoses.
• Develop and implement interdisciplinary standards of practice and care.
• Conduct self‑review and seek constructive feedback from peers.
• Facilitate open dialogue among peers, supervisors, and staff.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the health team.
• Work schedule: 7:30–16:00 Monday–Friday.
• Compensation: Competitive salary with annual performance bonus and regular salary increases.
• Paid time off: 50–55 days per year (26 days annual leave, 13 days sick leave, 11 paid federal holidays, plus up to 5 days for CME).
