Job summary

Nexus Health Systems in Houston, TX, seeks a comprehensive Office Manager to oversee daily physician practice operations and revenue cycle activities within our specialty hospital system serving neurodevelopmental and behavioral health needs.

You will lead front-office and billing teams, coordinate scheduling and registrations, and drive workflow improvements to enhance patient access, provider productivity, and overall care quality while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or related field required.
Minimum five years in physician practice or ambulatory care operations.
Minimum three years in leadership or supervisory role.
Experience with revenue cycle, billing, scheduling, and practice management.
Experience with Medicare/Medicaid and payer processes.
Experience with electronic health records and practice management systems.

Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day physician office operations including scheduling, registration, referrals, prior authorizations, insurance verification, medical records coordination, payment posting, and patient access.
Direct and supervise front-office, administrative, patient access, and billing support staff.
Develop and monitor workflows to improve efficiency and reduce patient wait times.
Collaborate with physicians and care teams to promote integrated care delivery.
Lead patient access initiatives to improve timely appointments and continuity of care.
Manage office resources, supplies, equipment, and vendor relationships.
Ensure HIPAA compliance and patient privacy in all activities.
Monitor operational metrics and implement process improvements.
