Job summary

BMC Software is seeking a Physician Practice Coder to review clinical records, assign diagnoses and procedures with ICD-10-CM and CPT-4/HCPCS, and ensure accurate charge capture. The role requires 2–5 years in a multi-specialty coding environment and CPC/CCS certification.

You will audit denials, stay current with guidelines, and collaborate with revenue cycle stakeholders to resolve issues and improve documentation and coding workflows.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent work experience.
• CPC/CCS certified.
• 2–5 years in a multi-specialty physician coding environment.

Responsibilities

• Review records and code diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4/HCPCS.
• Sequence diagnoses and procedures following official guidelines.
• Audit denials and perform root cause analysis for improvements.
• Maintain coding credentials and stay current with guidelines.
• Respond to coding questions and ensure accurate charge capture.
