This position is located at one of the various Indian Health Service Hospitals or Clinics under the Navajo Area Office. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a technical expert within the specialty area of Pediatrics.

Responsibilities

1. Practice medicine or provide direct services to patients, including diagnostic, preventative, or therapeutic services in hospitals and clinics.
2. Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other medical care to treat and prevent illnesses.
3. Order, perform, interpret tests, and analyze records to diagnose patient conditions.
4. Maintain patient information, monitor progress, and re-evaluate treatments as necessary.
5. Explain procedures and discuss test results with patients.
6. Coordinate with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive health services.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship and eligibility for a medical license.
• Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine degree from an accredited school.
• At least 1 year of supervised clinical experience post-degree.
• Specialized experience or training in Pediatrics (4 years for GS-14 level).
• Board Certification or active pursuit thereof in the relevant specialty.
• Additional conditions include background checks, immunizations, and maintaining clinical privileges.
