Summary
This position is located at Indian Health Service Hospitals or Clinics under the Navajo Area Office. The primary purpose is to serve as a Family Practice expert, providing diagnosis, care, and treatment for patients of all ages.

Note: This is an Open Continuous announcement; applicants will be referred when vacancies occur.

Duties

• Practice medicine or provide direct services involving diagnostic, preventative, or therapeutic services in hospitals and clinics.
• Prescribe or administer treatments, medications, vaccinations, and other medical care.
• Order, perform, interpret tests, and analyze records to diagnose conditions.
• Monitor patient progress, re-evaluate treatments, and discuss procedures and results with patients.
• Coordinate with healthcare professionals like Nurses, Pharmacists, and Social Workers.

Requirements

Conditions of Employment

• Probationary period may be required.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Selective Service Registration required for males born after 12/31/1959.
• Must not have committed certain crimes related to Indian children.
• Confidential Financial Disclosure Form required.
• Immunizations as per IHS Circular 2016-04 or exemption request needed.
• Obtain and maintain medical staff privileges and licensure.
• On-call or standby hours may be required.
• Pass E-Verify and set up direct deposit.
• Background check and fingerprinting required; continued employment contingent upon clearance.

Qualifications

Must demonstrate experience/education to perform duties. Experience includes paid, unpaid, volunteer, and part-time work.

Basic requirements include a degree from an accredited medical school, licensure, and supervised clinical experience.

Special Qualifications

• 4 years of graduate training or equivalent experience in Family Medicine/Practice.
• Board certification in the specialty or active pursuit of certification.
