Job summary

Protouch Staffing seeks a Pediatric Pulmonologist to join a multidisciplinary team delivering comprehensive pulmonary care to patients up to age 21. The role encompasses inpatient and outpatient duties with opportunities for research, education, and quality improvements.

The physician will evaluate and manage asthma, CF, PCD, and BPD; develop individualized plans and coordinate care; mentor trainees and utilize evidence-based practices in a collaborative setting.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an accredited Pediatric Residency.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatric Pulmonology.
• Active California medical license or eligibility to obtain one.
• DEA registration or eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient and outpatient pediatric pulmonary care.
• Evaluate and manage conditions such as asthma, cystic fibrosis, PCD, and BPD.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and coordinate multidisciplinary care.
• Participate in clinical research, quality improvement, and educational activities.
• Mentor fellows, APPs, and trainees as appropriate.

Position Overview

Seeking a Pediatric Pulmonologist to join a collaborative multidisciplinary team providing comprehensive pulmonary care to pediatric patients up to age 21. The role includes both inpatient and outpatient care, with opportunities for clinical research, education, and quality improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient and outpatient pediatric pulmonary care.
• Evaluate and manage conditions such as asthma, cystic fibrosis, PCD, and BPD.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and coordinate multidisciplinary care.
• Participate in clinical research, quality improvement, and educational activities.
• Mentor fellows, APPs, and trainees as appropriate.

Schedule

• Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM.
• One 7-day inpatient rotation approximately every 5-6 weeks.
• Inpatient rotation includes weekday rounds followed by clinic and weekend morning rounds with on-call coverage.
• One half-day of administrative time per week.
• Fellows provide support for the inpatient service.

Qualifications

• Active California medical license or eligibility to obtain one.

• Strong clinical and communication skills.

Practice Details

• Approximately 8 patients per half-day clinic: 2 new patients and 6 follow-ups.
• Inpatient census varies by season.
• Primary location in Long Beach, with approximately 2 clinic days per month in Torrance.
• Pediatric patient population through age 21.
