Job summary

Odyssey Locums seeks a board-certified or eligible OB laborist for Fargo, ND assignments. The role involves 24-hour shifts, delivering a mix of routine and high-acuity obstetric cases, including C-sections and VBACs, with support from midwives and a dedicated team.

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Eligible in OB medicine.
• Active ND License or IMLC.
• Experience with Epic EMR.
• Laborist shift scheduling and credentialing timelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide laborist coverage including routine and complex deliveries (vaginal, C-sections; VBACs) and postpartum care.
• Work with midwives and obstetric teams to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
• Deliveries occur in a 16-bed OB/L&D/postpartum unit with one dedicated OB OR.
• Maintain Epic EMR documentation and participate in credentialing process.

The Role:

• Location: Fargo, ND 58103-6132
• Assignment duration: 11/19/2026 - Ongoing
• Shift Type: 24-hour laborist shifts. Prefer weekdays; 3-4 24-hour shifts per month if possible. Require 24 hours off between shifts.
• Open shifts: November: 20, 23-29; December: 3, 8, 14, 23-31; January: 1-3.
• Cases: Laborist coverage including routine and complicated deliveries, vaginal deliveries, C-sections, VBACs, and postpartum care. Comfortable working with midwives.
• Site Charting System: Epic (strongly preferred)
• Beds in Department: 16 labor/delivery/postpartum rooms
• OB dedicated OR: 1
• Deliveries per month: About 120 (physicians perform approximately 65% of deliveries)
• EMR: Epic
• Requirements: Board Certified or Eligible, Active ND License or IMLC
• Credentialing Timeframe: 45-120 days
