As a fully remote Physician Coding Surgical Pediatric Senior Coder, you will code Surgical procedures for the Pediatric team, focusing on multi-specialties including Surgical. Production expectations depend on the coding task: straight E/M, Procedures, or a minimum of 9 encounters per hour.
This position is available in specific states only, including AK, AR, AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, MI, MN, MO, MS, NC, ND, NE, NM, NV, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WI & WY.
Hours are flexible between 7am – 7pm, with 5 8-hour shifts per week, Monday to Friday. The role offers opportunities to contribute within a nationally-recognized healthcare organization.
Position Summary: Performs complex professional coding for specialty or multi-specialty physician practices, evaluating medical records and ensuring accurate coding per guidelines. Supports department projects, validation, and training.
Core Functions: Includes analyzing medical information, coding diagnoses and procedures, ensuring compliance, abstracting data, providing quality assurance, mentoring staff, and managing work independently.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent, specialized training or Associate’s degree, certification (CPC, CCS, CCS-P, RHIA, RHIT), at least 5 years of complex coding experience, and proficiency in ICD and CPT coding principles. Ability to work remotely with high accountability and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications: Radiology Certified Coder (RCC), additional specialty certifications.
