Mayo Clinic is seeking a Coding & Documentation Educator to train clinicians, audit medical records, and provide feedback to ensure compliant documentation and reimbursement. This hybrid role may require on-site work within 100 miles of Mayo Clinic campuses.

Requires an Associate’s Degree with 6+ years of coding experience; RHIA/RHIT or CCS/CCS-P/CPMA/CPC certifications are expected, with CPMA or similar credentials to be obtained within 2 years.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree required.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred in a health care related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of professional coding experience and demonstrated knowledge of complex service lines.
• 2+ years of multispecialty professional services coding experience and auditing.
• 5 years extensive auditing experience with analytical problem solving.
• 2 years project management and presenting education to physicians or clinicians.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and audit data management.
• RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, CPMA or CPC required; CPMA or other certifications within 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Provide training, consultation, audits and feedback to clinicians on documentation and coding.
• Perform medical record audits to ensure compliance with coding regulations and standards.
• Develop and maintain educational materials and training programs.
• Interact with physicians and leadership teams; deliver on-site and remote presentations.
