Job summary

Mercy Medical Center is seeking a Manager of Physician Billing to oversee billing and follow-up for assigned practice groups, under the Sr. Director. The role includes monitoring staffing, billing and collection processes to meet financial goals.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of healthcare CBO leadership experience and proficiency in MS Office, Epic, and Meditech in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

  • Education and work experience: high school diploma or GED required; 2-4 year degree preferred if available.
  • Healthcare revenue cycle experience preferred; may substitute degree for experience.
  • 3–5 years of management/supervisory experience in healthcare CBO with proven A/R management.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Sr. Director of Physician Billing, the Manager of Physician Billing is responsible for billing and follow-up activities for assigned practice groups. Additionally, the manager monitors staffing, billing and collection processes to ensure department operational/financial goals and objectives are met.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Education and Work Experience:
  • Must possess a high school diploma or GED
  • Two or four year degree preferred
  • Healthcare revenue cycle management experience may be substituted for a degree
  • 3 - 5 year’s management/supervisory experience in healthcare CBO environment preferred with a proven track record for A/R management

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.

  • Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public.
  • Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employees.
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Must be proficient in MS Office Product Suite (Outlook, Word, EXCEL
    • Preferred experience with Allscripts/Misys Vision, RealMed, and ImageNow
    • Must be able to work independently.
    • Must be knowledgeable in data entry and filing duties.
    • Must be able to use a variety of mechanical equipment such as copiers, computers, facsimile machines and postage equipment.
    • Must be able to communicate and/or process the knowledge, skills or abilities to effectively interact and are for the specific ages of patients served.
    • Must be able to cope with the interruptions, be flexible and a team player.

USD $45.85/Hr.

Salary Information

Compensation decisions are made in alignment with internal equity, role scope, and market data to ensure fair and consistent pay practices. Most new hires are typically placed within the lower to mid-portion of the range; offers above that level are reserved for candidates with advanced or highly specialized qualifications.
