Job summary

The University Medical Center of El Paso is seeking a Physician Assistant to assist physicians in all outpatient, inpatient and peri-operative care. You will perform first assist duties in surgery, order and interpret labs and imaging, educate patients and render emergency care.

Requirements include a Master's degree in PA, Texas license, NCCPA certification, current BLS, and ability to obtain an NPI number; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. One year of experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Valid Physician Assistant license issued by the Texas Medical Board.
• NCCPA certification (PA-C).
• Current BLS certification.
• Must have DEA, DPS numbers and ability to obtain an NPI number.
• One year of experience as PA preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians in the global management of patient care in all settings (outpatient, inpatient, peri-operative).
• Perform first assist duties in surgery and participate in histories and examinations.
• Order and interpret laboratory and radiographic studies; educate and counsel patients.
• Render emergency care and facilitate patient referrals to the appropriate physician or agency.
