Assists with responding promptly to neurosurgical clinic patients and floor patients, direct admissions, scheduling surgeries, billing, updating patient lists and assists providers with floor rounds (writing notes, orders, wound care, peer reviews, etc.). Assists in surgical procedures in and out of the operating room. Facilitates timely communication with family and patients. Enters pre‑ and post‑operative orders for floor patients, preoperative history and physicals, and neurosurgical clinic paperwork in a timely fashion. Facilitates preparation of clinic patients for surgery. Willing to work flexible assigned shifts and be on‑call.
One year of experience in a neurosurgery outpatient clinic is preferred.
Three years of experience in a hospital environment as a physician assistant is preferred.
National Commissioned Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) required.
Licensed and approved as a physician assistant in the State of Texas.
Must have DEA Number, DPS Number, and be eligible to obtain an NPI Number.
Current CPR certification required.
ACLS or ATLS required within six months of employment.
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Training Program.
