Qualifications

• One year of experience in a neurosurgery outpatient clinic is preferred.
• Three years of experience in a hospital environment as a physician assistant is preferred.
• National Commissioned Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) required.
• Licensed and approved as a physician assistant in the State of Texas.
• Current CPR certification required.
• ACLS or ATLS required within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with responding promptly to neurosurgical clinic patients.
• Facilitate communication with family and patients.
• Enter pre- and post-operative orders for floor patients.
• Assist in surgical procedures in and out of the operating room.
• Update patient lists and assist providers with floor rounds.
